What Type Of Prior Work Experience Do Employers Of An Mba Graduate Look For? ?
MBA wiki, by mba ranking. What type of prior work experience do employers of an MBA Graduate look for?
Also, any tips or food for thought on entering an MBA program? I have a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts with a Psychology Minor and am looking to switch up/advance my career; I need to go back and take some required Undergraduate courses before I apply to the Graduate program.
Advice would be greatly appreciated and more than helpful! Thanks!
It depends on what type of work you are looking for. For instance, If you desire to work in upper management you will have to have some management/supervisory experience. However, with an MBA you have more opportunity as more doors will open for you. Now that you have a bachelors degree it is not necessary to take additional courses for the MBA. Most highly recognized Universities I know will accept you in the MBA program. Have a great day!
Any good MBA program will want to see 2-5 years of work experience before applying to the program–you add more to the program and you get more out of the program. You don’t need any courses beforehand, except for math through calculus for most programs. I would have taken accounting if I had it to do over. Look for a good alumni network where alumni are involved in providing internships and helping with placement–half the value of an MBA is in the alumni network.
