Rutgers’ Reputation In Terms Of Graduate Business School?

MBA school, by mba ranking.

I’ve been accepted to Rutgers’ MBA program (Rutgers Business School – Newark and New Brunswick), but haven’t made my decision. Overall, Rutgers seems to be a good school with the advantage of proximity to NYC. But I’ve also searched information from other websites and found out that it’s prestigious only outside of NJ. What do you think?

  1. I’m not surprised it’s considered more prestigious outside of NJ than inside. A lot of people in the US think Rutgers is an Ivy League School. People from NJ, however, just view it as a safety school. In reality, it’s somewhere in between.
The one thing I know about the graduate business school is that the Wall Street Journal ranked its Executive MBA program 20th in the world (http://webreprints.djreprints.com/207427… )

  2. Rutgers has always had a decent, but not stellar, reputation. I don’t think it is more prestigious outside of NJ than inside; in fact, since it is the state university of NJ, but people from outside often don’t know that, I would say its reputation is stronger locally.
