  14. Will the G R E 500 listen in to the recently upgraded british police secure digital radios. which are motorola 800 sets, on the tetra network system. used to be analogue up until 2005, but we have not been able to scan them since then.

  21. but to be honest people the above is ideal for modern days. something upgradeable through software/firmware. specially if your area is trunked bc theyll always add or delete talk groups

  22. true in most states or cities. but to be honest i dislike digital. our dept has had many cut outs, the digital repeater kicks in and covers any traffic where as analog ud still hear traffic over repeater. moto has tweaked it and nada. then if some1s keyed up not at all can any1 key up ina emergency and e heard where as analog would allow split second radio key ups. it also has more dead zones in locations then analog, as for mtn terrain, forget it, IT SUCKS

  23. Yes you are correct my friend but trust me it is is a cost issue so it will not happen for a very long time until it all goes encrypted.

  24. Does the scanner use the BNC connector for the antenna?

    BubbyandKierra at February 6, 2010 11:54 am
  25. keep in mind most, not all but most agencies plan to go fully aes or des encrypted once a digital transition is complete and all vehicles are upgraded/portables. des comes standard now per fed guidelines in all new radios. so agencies say if its there, just use it. so eventually itll all be encrypted. hard but true fact.
