Yes it is important. I am in the same boat as well, and i know how it feels. Just make a list of good colleges and see whether u can make it to any of them, if not… i would suggest for a payment seat through management quota..if the option is available and if that is ok with u.
Or u can try next year… and u can work this year and it shall be an advantage for u when u join mba next year. So no need to worry. Take it easy and All The Best.
If you just want a degree for the sake of getting one, you can opt for any institute. There should not be any issue. But if you really want to get a good job, go for a good institute as well.
